Profiles

Like many others, you may be interested in knowing what the direct causes of your health ailments are so you can take a proactive approach to getting better. When many of us have health problems, our natural inclination is to seek the help of a physician. Medical evaluations are certainly the first major step in assessing a patient’s status in order to find possible causes of the presenting problem. However, despite how chronic or long-standing your medical condition may be, there are techniques and strategies you can use to immediately improve your physiology.
These areas of human physiology, such as your mind and body’s response to stress (physiological and emotional), are critical to address. This is where stress profiling becomes very important, as it can reveal levels of chronic stress and its impact over the course of weeks, months, or even years. Often times aspects of our physiology change and lead to a domino effect of other cascading health concerns — all while remaining largely outside of our awareness. Despite how severe the negative impact of stress can be, we are often not aware of it until it hurts! The good news is we can learn to quickly control and mitigate the effects of stress. Breathing – one of the most important physiological functions of the body – can be controlled right away with proper techniques to ensure a felt difference immediately. Muscle tension – recognized as physical and physiological states of your body, can also be controlled immediately similar to breathing.

Improvements are measured using 3 different approaches:

  • Subjective report
  • Objective findings from your Educator
  • Objective measurements through the use of state-of- the-art Biofeedback equipment.

Establishing initial baselines for stress, breathing and muscle tension profiles can help you recognize your individual level of deviation from physiological norms. You may consider them as adjuncts to conventional vital signs and medical findings, indicating areas to work on for improvement through the creation of quantifiable, concrete and measurable goals. Furthermore, these profiles may help your healthcare provider more effectively deliver treatment as well.

Based on your individual profile results, you will be given recommendations for the best course of training to better control your symptoms and meet your goals. Reviewing and reassessing your profiles at the end of your training will allow you to see any and all improvements in your symptoms and physiology, proving to you that your mind is one of the most powerful allies in healing your body and improving performance.
