What is Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a technique and technology that teaches physiological control as a strategy to address physical or emotional symptoms and can even be used to improve overall health and performance. More about Biofeedback here

How does Biofeedback work?

When I present Biofeedback to clients, I explain them that Biofeedback is their “computerized physiological mirror”. Client use Biofeedback “mirror effect” pretty similar to using bathroom mirror. Client makes himself look better while using bathroom mirror. Similar to it, client can make himself look better physiologically and see it by interacting with computer screen. At the same time client may feel better

Is Biofeedback safe?

Biofeedback is safe and non-invasive. While sensors are attached to your body, the biofeedback equipment simply reads the electrical signals being emitted from your body.

Should I stop taking medications during Biofeedback training?

No! Clients should continue taking medications as prescribed. Clients should agree to change or stop any medications per medical doctor’s decision only

Is there scientific support for Biofeedback?

What does typical session look like?

The beginning of each session is typically a review of client’s experience since their previous session. Then after some brief instructions for the session’s educational topic and new technique, the client practices techniques using Biofeedback equipment to monitor physiological responses and progress.

How many sessions do I need?

Usually training takes 7-12 sessions, but in some cases it may be more. The duration of the initial session is up to 90 min, and follow-up sessions can last up to 55 min. Training usually takes place on a weekly basis.

What kind of health problems can Biofeedback help?
